Great tour & FOOD!!

This was a fun and exciting experience for my group and me! The crew was fun, professional, and made sure everyone was safe while snorkeling and just out enjoying the water. The food selections were delicious, which consisted of seafood, surf & turf, meat, and vegetarian!!! Their food was probably some of the best food I had during my stay in Bavaro. Great experience and tour!!!

We were in the DR to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. We had a group of 25 and wanted to do some type of boat trip. I found Hispaniola through trip advisor. They had everything we wanted and a slide for $95/person and we had the whole boat to ourselves. Blondie and the crew were the best. They were helpful and fun. The food was delicious! My favorite was the slide! Everyone had a blast! If you’re going to Punta Cana and want to do something on the water, I highly recommend Hispaniola Aquatic.

All I can say is WOW!!!!! This tour was absolutely beautiful. Best single day of our trip.

The perfect day started with a perfect round trip transfer included in the price. We were the 2nd of 3 stops at different resorts so it was very quick. Comfy fan, working AC and a driver who made us feel safe. Couldn’t have asked for more. The ride back was just as good, although my memory of it is less clear.

When we got to the main dock there was a short check-in/ briefing led by our tour guide, Baby. Baby and his crew were FANTASTIC! You are allowed to request a tour guide in advance and you should absolutely ask for him. He kept the party going and kept all of us safe no matter how deep the water or how well stocked the bar :) After about 10 minutes the 16 adults on the tour, including my boyfriend and I, were on our way to the boat.

The boat and the views from it were STUNNING! Second to none! The boat was two stories with a bar on board, a little bathroom, and a waterslide on the second story. The views looked like a freaking postcard. We could hardly believe our eyes. The captain was great and pointed out different big fish and TURTLES while we were moving from one location to another. I get motion sickness rather easily so I was a little nervous about spending a day on the boat but never once did I feel the slightest bit sick. I purposely didn’t use the boat on board for the first 15 minutes of the trip just to make sure I was going to be OK and everything was great.

The bar on board is fully stocked with beer, rum, vodka and a handful of classic mixers (coke, sprite & OJ if I remember correctly). Not the widest selection I’ve ever seen but there was never a problem with quantity and all 16 people on the boat always had a drink in their hand that they were very happy with.

The first stop on the tour was snorkeling! Oh my goodness!!! I have been snorkeling dozens of times all over the Caribbean but this was by far the best I’ve ever seen. The fish and the coral were stunning. Baby had a GoPro camera and he took photos of everything and everyone and posted them on Facebook for us for free. It was so nice that we didn’t fuss about taking photos and could really take in the moment. We got to use the waterslide at this stop and jump off the second story of the boat since the water was deep enough. That was an experience I will never forget. Bucket list, once in a lifetime. Must do! Do not be scared. DO IT!!!

Once we got back on the boat we had lunch on the boat. Hot and fresh. My boyfriend had the meat option (steak, chicken wings, sausage & ribs) and I had the surf & turf (steak & lobster). We shared our plates and it was so freaking good!! One of the best meals of our whole trip.

Then the boat stopped at a shallow area of the ocean and we got out and had more drinks at the float bar. This was my boyfriend’s favorite part. We stayed there for 30+ minutes. Long enough to lose track of time and to drink all the rum. It was a very well stocked bar, we just had that good of a time :) Then got back on the boat and it was a short trip back to the dock.

Two pro tips. They are going to offer you a life vest (at no cost to you) for the snorkeling part of the excursion. Unless you are a professional swimmer, take it. The water is deep enough to spook some members of our group. They might not look great on the cover of sports illustrated but they will make you 100x more comfortable in the water and you can actually enjoy snorkeling. Second, the sun in the DR is no joke. I highly recommend a rash guard/ swim shirt. You spend the whole time in the water so you can’t apply enough sunscreen fast enough. Your skin will thank you later.
