Snorkel the crystal-clear lagoon surrounding Cayo Paraiso (Paradise Island) while on vacation in the Dominican Republic! Visit this natural sandbar by speedboat and explore the coral reef amid turquoise waters of the Caribbean. You’ll see natural landmarks in the countryside on a coach tour from Puerto Plata and explore the mangroves of Monte Cristi National Park on your return to shore. With lunch on an unspoiled beach plus unlimited drinks, you’ll have an idyllic time in this sun lover’s paradise.

Start your day tour with hotel pickup and board a comfortable coach for a scenic drive, passing through the lush tropical countryside bordered by mountains surrounding Puerto Plata. Look up at Pico Isabel de Torres, the city’s highest peak, which rises approximately 2,625 feet (800 meters) above sea level. En route to the fishing village of Punta Rusia, located in the northwest of the island, marvel at the changing natural landscape of cacti forest and desert.

When you reach Punta Rusia, hop in your awaiting speedboat and cruise across the gleaming turquoise waters of the Caribbean to Cayo Paraiso. After a 25-minute ride, disembark and relax on the powdery white sands of this natural sandbank. Encircled by a pristine coral reef, Cayo Paraiso offers some of the best snorkeling in the Dominican Republic and you’ll have 2.5 hours to discover it all.

With your complimentary snorkel gear, dive into the warm, crystalline water and explore the magic of the reef. Spot a variety of fascinating sea creatures that inhabit the undersea, and watch schools of tropical fish dart in and out of vibrant, colorful corals. Keep an eye out for starfish, sea turtles, spotted eels, stingrays and more in this unforgettable paradise!

Enjoy unlimited drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) on the unspoiled beach as well as during your restaurant lunch. Then, hop back in the speedboat for a 30-minute tour of Monte Cristi National Park (Parque Nacional Monte Cristi). Considered one of the driest regions of the Dominican Republic, the vast national park supports coastal lagoons, sub-tropical dry forest and dense mangrove swamps, all of which draw a variety of birdlife including flamingos, herons and brown pelicans.

Your guide will point out the natural landmark of El Morro, a 777-foot (237-meter) limestone mesa that juts upwards from the pristine water. From here, it is possible to view Los Cayos Siete Hermanos (The Seven Brothers Cays) – several small offshore islands that are home to 10 species of reptiles, including the American crocodile and sea turtles that return each year to lay their eggs.

After your boat tour, board your coach for the return trip to Puerto Plata, arriving at your hotel around 4:30pm.
