What To Expect

Our local guide will assign you a bike for the tour. First we ride to visit to a small organic cocoa producer family, to learn about cacao trees and to get to know the family backyard where you will taste some seasonal fruits and local ice cream. Learn about typical chocolate at a local family, see how they make it in the countryside and have the opportunity to taste a fresh Dominican-style hot chocolate drink. We will ride to another community to meet a family that produces organic coffee. Learn about the coffee plantation and the process to harvest, dry, roast and grind coffee as the locals do in the countryside.
Enjoy the countryside by bicycle and visit the Higuero River, take many photos to remember this beautiful day. If available, drink coconut water from the local coconut vendor, as well as to get to know some of the local street foods cooked by local women. Finally we will refresh ourselves with an ice cold beer in the village grocery store, just like the locals do.
