What To Expect

Bavaro Beach
Hop aboard an open-air safari-style truck from your Punta Cana or Bavaro hotel, and set out into the Anamuya mountains. During the rollicking ride, soak up the stunning seascapes and tropical countryside, dotted with pastel-colored cottages. As your knowledgeable guide provides engaging commentary, look out for horses, donkeys, hens and bulls grazing or resting in the shade.
Also, the Dominican Republic is well-known for its cigars. At the trapiche, listen to generations-old master craftsmen explain how they harvest tobacco and roll them into sought-after cigars. Break for lunch at a mountaintop restaurant pavilion, and dig into a delicious buffet with refreshing beer, smooth rum and non-alcoholic drinks to accompany your meal. Visit a typical Dominican home to meet a local family and taste beloved treats such as just-plucked tropical fruits, freshly brewed organic coffee and pure cacao. Want something with more kick? Try a mamajuana, a Dominican drink of rum, red wine and honey.

Best experience in Punta Cana

Great authentic experience. The tour guide (Angel) was excellent! Knowledgeable, funny and attentive - I highly recommend touring with him.
The tour was very informative, diverse and fun. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience something different than resort polished reality.
The lunch was outstanding: home-made, simple but fresh and delicious! The visit to Maria's house was the highlight of the tour.
All in all the best experience I had during my stay in Punta Cana!!
Dominican countryside tour with Angel and Luis. Fun tour while learning about the Dominican countryside

The countryside tour was very fun and educational. Our tour guide Angel was full of knowledge and he was super fun. Luis the driver was also super nice and a professional driver. Overall it’s a great tour to see and experience the Dominican lifestyle. The lunch meal was delicious. Must try the coco tea and the fresh hot chocolate. The tours at were very organized and they are very punctual when it comes to pick up times. I can’t want to go on another tour with them.

Very informative. Enjoyed Maria’s property…awesome she has a beautiful home!! Tour guides were J. Rodriguez and Jose the Happy!! It was a joy experiencing the country through their eyes. Lunch at Maria’s was awesome as well. If you like to learn new things and enjoy trying new foods…totally recommend. They were upbeat and joyful the entire time. Jose the Happy was also a really good driver!!
Great to see more of Dominica, but take lots of tip $$$

We enjoyed seeing the countryside, villages, and friendly people along the drive. Some of the stops were very staged and were there for the hard sell at their shops, so be prepared to purchase overpriced trinkets and cigars, or have a very firm ability to decline. Also, have plenty of pesos to tip the various guides (horseback, cathedral guide, etc). Our driver, Jesus was fabulous and accommodating. Overall the excursion was worth it, but take lots of extra $$$.
Trip not as listed

While the trip/tour was informative and Manny "Bla bla bla bal" (yes that's what he wanted us to call him) was very educated, but he repeated himself a lot. He did his best to make the time between location enjoyable The trip is listed as going to Macao Beach which it did not, this was a big disappointment as we wanted our daughter to see this very beautiful beach. The tour of Mary's place was super informative and the food was good. We have taken better "countryside" tours in the past, but COVID-19 could have closed these down. Over all it was a solid day.
